I HUNG OUT:::
I hardly ever go out, but last night my friendgurl Alivia a/k/a "El Diva", sent a text that read simply,"get dressed I'm picking you up @ 8:30 and we're going out!" Well this bit of information came to me right after I stripped down to the granny panties with a cold beer in hand ready to pop in a movie and call it a night. Her timing sucked, but I made myself redress, made up my face and combed out my wig for the events that followed: appetizers @ Pei Wei with Fernando and Charlton while taking pics @ the table for Face Book (damn you facebook!), then left there and hung out at Alivia's friendgirls house for a midnight movie, Apocolypto.
At one time I was considered the life of the party, at least that's what "El Diva" tells everyone. I love music, love to dance and really love to laugh with good folks all around me. I think that's why my time in undergrad school @ an HBCU went past the 4 year plan. ;-). But now, in my 40s, I pull in, pull the covers over my face, and call it a night. It's just feel so right!
I'll do better. I'm going to get out more. As a matter fact when I'm finished typing here I'll call Alivia and ask her what's up for tonight? I really wanna hang!

1st time Blogger
Happy New Year!!!!
I've decided to set up a blogger account since one of my New Year's resolution is to write more...is to write more....is to write more...is to write more!!! To even challange myself to write 365. Yep, everyday, for a one year, but since I started late the challange is now to write for 358. Another resolution is to try my hand at sewing. Both my grandmother and mother could whip up a Vogue pattern with one eye closed and one hand tied behind their back. My mom put me in a Singer sewing class back in the early 80s and as I remember my best friend at the time and I would either fall asleep in class or sneak out to walk around Meyerland Mall to window shop. I did begin (but never finished) a hawaiian pring swimsuit cover up. My mom would always pull it out of her bucket of of fabrics and ask "remember this?" Oh the memories, maynot start that project just yet, but my goal is to sew a cool blouse for the summer. Lastly, I want to plant a seed and watch it grow. Tomatoe or cucumber to start so by summer I'll be eating a fresh garden salad in my hand-sewn linen blouse. I better get started, summer is just around the corner.
